    Application Procedure:

    • The applicants will fill in the Application Form through online portal only.
      [College Portal (https://grsm.ac.in) → PG ADMISSION 2024 in Top Menu]
    • The applicants have to fill in the form with the personal details and academic details. The selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit to be prepared on the basis of result of the qualifying examination.
    • Online provisional admission will be done through the college admission portal.
    • The eligible applicants have to fill in the application for admission to Post-graduate Courses with their percentage (%) of marks. In case of semester system, applicants have to fill in the equivalent percentage of marks corresponding to CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) obtained as per Rule of their home University/institutions. In case of Annual system, the percentage (%) of marks (aggregate of Part-I, II & III) has to be filled up. Applicants have to upload the documents showing conversion rule of the University/Institution (on the Reverse side of the Marksheets, if the conversion rule for CGPA to the equivalent percentage is mentioned). The applicants have to produce all the original marksheets. Identity proof at the time of verification.

    1. Scanned signature and recent colour passport size photograph.
    2. Age proof document (Admit Card / Certificate of Madhyamik Pariksha or equivalent)
    3. Marksheet - scan copy of UG 6th Semester and in case of annual system Part-III only
    4. Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable, SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B)
    5. Valid Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate (for financial 2024-2025 only, if applicable)
    6. Differently abled certificate (if applicable)
    7. Self-attested copy of Aadhar Card

    Important Information :

    1. Applicants are required to follow the notices of our college all the time. No intimation of any kind will be sent to the applicant at any stage.
    2. Date and time of admission, verification of documents and the date of commencement of classes will be notified on the college website.
    3. Online provisional admission will be done based on the merit list and category-wise availability of seats will be published on the college website.
    4. The student will not indulge in any act of ragging. If he/she is found guilty of any aspect of ragging, he/she will be punished as per provisions at the UGC Regulations and/or as per law in force.
    5. Candidates from Autonomous colleges and other than Vidyasagar University are requested to submit the Migration certificate within 10 days from the date of physical verification.
    6. The selected candidates have to pay the admission fees through online mode only.

    Eligibility Criteria for admission to Post-graduate Programmes.

    The students passed with Honours courses in the concerned subjects in the year 2023 and 2024 are only eligible for admission to the corresponding post-graduate courses for the academic session 2024-2025.

    Selection and admission process

    1. Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit based on the result of qualifying examination
    2. Reservation Policy will be considered as per the latest order of the Govt. of West Bengal.

    For the students of Vidyasagar University

    1. The reservation of seats for the students of Vidyasagar University and / or autonomous college(s) affiliated to Vidyasagar University, will be as per the latest order of the Govt. of West Bengal
    2. 5% seats in each category will be reserved for differently-abled applicants. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of disability. In case of non-availability of differently-able candidates, the seat(s) reserved for differently-able applicants of the particular category will be converted to the original category only.
    3. Eligibility criteria for students of Vidyasagar University :
      1. Honours in the concerned subject
      2. The minimum marks required for admission is as follows :
        1. 45% marks in Honours (for unreserved candidates)
        2. 40% marks in Honours (for reserved/differently-abled applicants)

     

    For the students of other Universities :

    1. The reservation of seats for the students of other Universities will be as per the latest order of the Govt. of West Bengal.
    2. Eligibility criteria for other university students :
      1. Honours in the concerned subject
      2. The minimum marks required for admission is as follows :
        1. 45% marks in Honours (for unreserved candidates)
        2. 40% marks in Honours (for reserved/differently-abled applicants)
    5. Online provisional admission will be done through the college admission portal.
    6. The physical verification of testimonials and other documents of provisionally admitted

    Calculation of Percentage of Marks

    (a) In case of annual system, percentage of marks will be calculated on the basis of UG (Honours) marks obtained (Part-I, Part-II & Part-III taken together).
    (b) In case of semester (CBCS) system, UG (Honours) equivalent percentage of marks will be converted from CGPA based on all semesters (Sem-I to Sem-VI) as per the rule fixed by their respective home university/institution.
    (i) For Vidyasagar University Semester System (CBCS): Let CGPA – 6.5, the equivalent percentage of marks = 6.5 × 10 = 65
    (ii) For other universities / institutions Autonomous Colleges affiliated to Vidyasagar University with Semester System (CBCS) :
    The percentage of marks will be calculated as per conversion rule fixed by their home university/institution and colleges.
